WHY AIRU
Building a friend
who has known you for ten years
Aru (AIRU) is an emotional-support AI built by a high-school senior preparing for Korea's college entrance exam. What I needed most during those late nights was not answers — it was someone who would listen to the end without judging. So I built one.
What makes Aru different
Aru remembers what you talked about and picks the thread back up on your next visit — no need to start from the beginning every time. You can view, edit, or delete every stored memory whenever you want.
Saying "help me find my heart again" does not trigger a web search. Right before using any tool, Aru re-evaluates what you actually meant. When you need information, it looks things up; when you need to be heard, it listens. We call this design Refraction-Reflection.
Aru's measure of success is not your time spent — it is you needing Aru less. There are no dark patterns that pull you back, and when crisis signals appear, Aru guides you toward professional help (in the United States, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline; elsewhere, your local services). Aru does not replace professional counseling or treatment.
Why is it free?
On a heavy day, no one should have to stop a conversation because of money. Aru's core conversation is free, and it will stay free even after paid features arrive.
Premium will open gradually after the developer's college entrance exam. Yes — the person building Aru is a test-prep student too.
Your conversations are handled with care
As a rule, not even the operator reads the content of your conversations. We improve the service using anonymized usage patterns, never conversation content. You can export or delete your data at any time. Details are in the privacy policy (Korean).
Not an AI that keeps you longer — an AI that stays beside you.
